If you work in construction, having a liner in the bed of your truck is important. The liner will keep sharp or heavy materials from scratching, denting, or dinging the bed of your truck. There are quite a few options when it comes to bed liners, though. Use the guide below to learn about a few of the truck bed liners that are available so that you can make an informed decision about which option is best for you.

Spray-On Truck Bed Liners

Spray-on truck bed liners are often a great option for anyone who wants their bed to be permanently lined. The spray-on liners are sprayed directly into the bed of the truck and cover the bottom and sides of the truck bed. The liner is added to the bed using a polyurethane system. It creates a strong shield to protect the bed from being damaged from construction material. The only aspect of spray-on bed liners that is not appealing to all truck owners is the fact that it is very difficult to remove from the bed once it has been applied to it. It is pretty much viewed as a permanent bed liner option.

Some great features of the spray in liner are that it stays in place no matter what. It can often have a rough texture that will keep loose tools from sliding around in the bed of the truck as you drive, as well. It is ideal for those that work in construction because it is so durable and long-lasting. When choosing the right spray-in bed liner for your truck, be sure to consider the color and thickness. Black is the most common color for the bed liners, but some companies offer an array of color options. Be sure that you choose a thick liner option to ensure maximum protection of your truck bed.

Drop-In Truck Bed Liners

If you want an inexpensive, very quick bed lining option, consider the drop-in truck bed liners. These liners are a shell that simply slips over your existing bed liner to create a barrier between the bed of the truck and your tools. The liners are not as durable as spray-in liners and will need to be made for your specific truck in order to ensure a perfect fit. The liner needs to be created for your truck specifically, to ensure that it slides over your wheel wells and stays in place properly when it is in your truck. A great feature of the drop-in bed liners is that they are very easy to remove when you do not want to use them.

When choosing a liner, be sure that you take the time to consider if it is being used as a temporary or permanent protective solution. The price of spray-on bed liners is often significantly higher than drop-in liners, but they are designed to last for a very long time, whereas drop-in liners are not designed to last for years to come.
